Wolfgang Engel's expertise was gained at the famous glass blowing village of Lauscha in Germany, where he was apprenticed by Andreas Boehm, before being drawn to the idyllic artist's colony Ahrenshoop on the Baltic coast. He ran a successful art glass business and Gallery with the painter Rose-Marie Engel for many years before a trip to Australia in 1991 changed his life once more.
After running his studio for 17 years at the Bundaberg Cooperage he moved to Sunshine Coast in collaboration with the famous and notorious Tina Cooper, a famous Australian Glass Artist. His studio then was located next to Tina Cooper's Glass Gallery in Eumundi, at 93 Memorial Drive until 2016. It was a new highlight for the township of Eumundi with Glass Blowing returning. Tourists and locals alike loved to watch a glass blower at work.
